Speaker Notes

Slide 1: Welcome to Home-Crafted Holiday Hostess Kit. I would like to start by thanking Kimberly for hosting the Creative Spark Summit. This is my fifth time attending but first time presenting and I am very excited to be here! I am very grateful for this summit as it “sparked” my love of creating printables. So let’s dive in, this is the Home-Crafted Holiday Hostess Kit by Rural Meanings.
Slide 2: Hi! I’m Rachel the creator of Rural Meanings. Rural Meanings is created for the creative outdoorsy small business owner to recharge & reconnect.
Slide 3: A bit about me- I enjoy road tripping, crafting, and can often be found with a cup of tea nerding out to business strategies. I live in a small rural town in Alberta, Canada with my husband and playful pups. And my journey started with various crafts- I was into creating tablescapes & table settings for a little while and eventually it led to discovering printables. From there I have became a course creator for product creation, email marketing, and collaboration and have started creating printable tutorials.
Slide 4: Before we begin, I assume no responsibility for errors, omissions, or contrary interpretation of the content. This presentation and its templates are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, whether expressed or implied. Any perceived slights of specific persons, peoples, or organizations are unintentional. This presentation has been created based on my own experience.
Slide 5: In this presentation you will learn how to create printable menus, place cards, napkin bands, wine bottle labels, and coasters. You will also learn where I found design inspiration. I will discuss 4 quick ways you can customize PLR (private label rights/ commercial use) templates. And lastly, I will share with you ways to grow your visibility and sell with the holiday hostess kit. Which spoiler alert I’m not sharing about SEO or the algorithm, instead I am sharing the strategies I use in my own business.
Slide 6: When considering how to design the printables my inspiration came from Pinterest Predicts. From Pinterest Predicts I decided on Cherry Coded, Peak Travel, & Rebel Floats. And then I also wanted a traditional Christmas design. My interpretation of Cherry Coded meets Peak Travel is Cherry Mountain a fresh, modern fusion of deep cherry red and airy light blue. With geometric mountain peaks capturing both adventure and minimalism.
Slide 7-9: Tutorial
Slide 10: Next my interpretation of traditional Christmas is Classic Evergreen a timeless holiday aesthetic featuring pine trees in rich natural shades of dark and medium green. Accented with bold red star hanging cut outs. Blending traditional charm with festive detailing.
Slide 11-12: Tutorial
Slide 13: Lastly, my interpretation of Rebel Floats is Cream Soda Nostalgia a playful vibe with bubbly shades of soda pink, string lights, and ornaments. It’s a sweet throwback wrapped in soft holiday charm.
Slide 14-15: Tutorial
Slide 16: 4 Quick Ways to customize PLR templates is #1 by changing the font and #2 by changing the colours. These are where you can really start branding and making your products look cohesive. #3 change the graphics. You could swap out for outlines that can be used for kids to colour. And #4 change the holiday. Create for New Years, Valentine’s Day, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, and so on. You need to be customizing PLR so that you stand out and have cohesive products that are easily recognizable as your own.
Slide 17: And lastly, I promised I would share with you ways to grow your visibility and sell with the holiday hostess kit. That were not about SEO or the algorithm. So, the ways I grow visibility and sell in my own business are by growing my email list, freebies, bundles, and collections.
Slide 18: Here is how this could work, and I have templates for you at the end of this presentation. You could customize the templates let’s say you create Summer wine labels and coasters and give them away for free either on a freebie post in a group, a freebie swap with someone else, or in a bundle. For people to receive your gift they opt in to your email with their name and email address and you grow your list. Then with collections you could create a paid offer with matching Summer napkin bands at a low cost or customized matching Summer menus at a higher cost encouraging them to “Collect them all.” These paid offers you could share with your email list and use as an order bump for the free Summer wine labels and coasters.
Why am I sharing this with you? Because when SEO and the algorithm didn’t work for me growing my email list, freebies, bundles, and creating collections did. And incase you are not familiar with them bundles are a collaborative event where other business owners come together to offer their product usually for free within the bundle. Then they promote the bundle to their audiences who then come and sign up for the products they want in exchange for their email addresses. And a takeaway message here is if something isn’t working for you there are other strategies you can try. You don’t have to stay stuck.
Slide 19: Thank you for watching this presentation. I really appreciate your time. You can find me at ruralmeanings.com and if you have any questions or comments, I’m just an email away at [email protected] I would really love to connect with you!
